PC2Paper relies on the good services that Royal Mail provide and an essential part of this is our business collection. With the recent bad weather, however, our local area has been completely cut off. 15 inches of snow have meant no Royal Mail collections for three days causing a huge backlog of mail and with a fourth day of no collections we decided it was time to take drastic action to get the mail to the sorting office. With no post offices open and no way of driving in the dreadful conditions our dedicated staff decided the only way to get the mail out was to walk to the sorting office. We donned our boots, gloves and hats and struggled out each with several sacks of mail slung over each shoulder. After a gruelling 4 mile walk through knee deep snow and freezing conditions the mail was finally passed to the nearest sorting office and we are pleased to say we have now managed to clear the backlog. We are hoping that weather conditions will improve over the next few days and that service will soon return to normal but feel a big thanks is in order to our staff who went the extra mile.
