Delays at the Plymouth and Medway Mail Centres

Royal Mail have advised that not all mail was processed to schedule at its Plymouth Mail Processing Centre yesterday causing delays in the following areas •Plymouth: Some mail posted in the PL postcode area, due for delivery today in other parts of the UK. We are also seeing delays at the Medway Mail Processing Centre, with not all mail having processed to schedule on the 30th of April and the 1st of May. This is causing some delays to out outgoing tracked mail. All mail has been passed to the postal service, but is currently delayed at Medway.

The CWU has notified Royal Mail they plan to call on their members to take 24 hours of national strike action from 1230hrs on Thursday 16 February until 1230hrs Friday 17 February 2023. During these days there will be no deliveries or postal collections so no mail will enter the postal service. We will continue to process all mail as normal for posting once the service resumes on Monday the 20th of February. We will be unable to guarantee delivery times of all tracked services in the days up to and after strike dates. These services are likely to take longer to reach their destination at this time.

Delays in Many Areas

Delays to International Tracked Mail

We are currently seeing long delays to items sent via the International Tracked and Signed service. These items have been collected from us as normal but in many cases are not showing any tracking updates. Having contacted Royal Mail this is likely due to a backlog of mail at Heathrow. As a result of the backlog items are not being scanned into the system until they are processed at Heathrow. Due to these long delays we have removed this service until we start to see it working normally again.

Temporary Removal of Tracked Services

We will be removing all tracked services from the website up to and during the postal strike on Friday the 23rd of December. These will be available again once we reopen after Christmas.

Further Strike Action Planned on the 23rd and 24th of December

The Communication Workers Union (CWU) formally notified Royal Mail they plan to call on their members who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters to take national strike action on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 December 2022. PC2Paper will be closing for Christmas on the 23rd of December as no mail will be collected from us on this day. Any Mail received after our 3pm Cut-off on Thursday the 22nd of December will be processed when we re-open on the 28th of December.

Delays to all Mail

We are currently seeing delays of a month or more to many mail items, with letters waiting at sorting offices for delivery. We are continuing to post items as normal but customers should expect long delays to all services. Royal Mail has posted updated information for tracked items, they are not currently guaranteeing Special Delivery as a next day service, although it is being given priority over mail. Tracked 24 items are currently not being guaranteed within 24 hours and will take longer to deliver.

No Mail Service on the 14th and 15th of December Due to Strike Action

The Communication Workers Union plan to call on their members who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters to take national strike action on Wednesday 14, Thursday 15, Friday 23 and Saturday 24 December 2022. On these days there will no mail deliveries or collections. PC2Paper will continue to process all mail as normal for collection on the 16th of December when normal services resumes. All tracked services will be temporarily suspended up to and including strike days. We are currently seeing extremely long delays to all service, we regret that we cannot guarantee delivery times in the current circumstances.

Further Strike Action on the 14th and 15th of December

On these days there will no mail deliveries or collections. PC2Paper will continue to process all mail as normal for collection on the 16th of December when normal services resumes. Customers should expect severe delays to all mail services. All tracked services will be temporarily suspended up to and including strike days.

No Mail Service Due to Postal Strikes

PC2Paper is still processing mail as usual but no mail will be collected from us until normal service resumes on Monday the 12th of December. Severe Delays to all Mail

We are currently seeing items that have been stuck in the postal system for more than 2 weeks as well as items that are not showing any tracking updates after they have been dispatched. We are still posting items as normal but customers should expect severe delays to all mail.

Christmas Opening Hours, Closed on the 23rd, 26th and 27th of December

PC2Paper will be closed on the 23rd of December as there is no mail service on this day due to the postal strike. In addition to this we will be closed for the Bank Holidays on the 26th and 27th of December. Any Mail received after our 1pm cut-off time for tracked mail and 3pm for all other mail on Thursday the 22nd of December will be processed when we re-open on Wednesday the 28th of December.

Strike Action on Friday the 9th December: No Mail Service

The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has formally notified Royal Mail they plan to call on their members who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters to take national strike action on Wednesday 30 November and Thursday 1 December 2022. During this time there will no mail service operating. PC2Paper will continue to process all mail as normal for collection on Friday the 2nd of December when services return to normal. No mail will received on strike days for our mailbox customers as Royal Mail will not bee carrying out deliveries. We would expect delays to all incoming and outgoing mail as a result of strike action. PC2Paper will be suspending all tracked service in the lead up and during strike action, as we are unable to guarantee delivery times for these.

Further Royal Mail Strike Action on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of November

The CWU plan to call on their members who collect, sort, distribute and deliver parcels and letters to take strike action over three days from Wednesday 2 November up to and including Friday 4 November. The planned strikes on Wednesday 2, Thursday 3 and Friday 4 November involve CWU members in different areas of our organisation, with each area taking strike action on different days. This means most services will only be affected on one or two of the days during the planned days of strike action that week. We expect our business collections to be affected on the 3rd and 4th of November with no mail being collected from us on these days. We will continue to process all mail for collection when services resume on Monday the 7th of November.

Postal Strike on the 25th of October: No Mail Services

Due to the postal strike on Tuesday the 25th of October there will be no mail services operating. We will still process all items as usual but no mail be collected from us until normal service resumes on Wednesday the 26th of October. During this time there will also be no received mail, so mailbox customers will see a delay. As tracked services will be delayed during the postal strike, we will be removing these temporarily until normal service resumes. Special Delivery item are still being seen a priority but Royal Mail have currently suspended its next day delivery guarantee.

Royal Mail Strike Action: No Mail Services on Thursday the 20th of October

There is a planned Royal Mail Strike for Thursday the 20th of October. On this day PC2Paper will still process all mail for collection on Friday the 21st of October but no mail will be collected from us on this day. There are no mail deliveries on this day so Mailbox customers should expect all incoming mail to be delayed. We would also expect delays to any mail posted up to and during strike action as Royal Mail work to clear the backlog. During the strike we will be suspending all tracked services temporarily as we cannot guarantee delivery times for these.

No Royal Mail Services on the 13th of October Due to Strike Action

There will be Royal Mail collections of deliveries on the 13th of October due to strike action. Any mail received will be processed as normal but will not enter the postal system until normal service returns on Friday the 14th of October. During this time we have suspended all tracked services as we cannot guarantee delivery times for these. In addition to this Royal Mail are not currently guaranteed next day delivery on Special Delivery items, although there will still take priority over other mail. As we will will receive no postal deliveries, there will be no mail received for our Mailbox customers during strike action. Customers should also expect several delays to mail sent up to, during and in the days after strike action. This will affect both sent and received mail.

Postal Strikes and Bank Holiday No Service Until Tuesday the 30th of August

We would like to remind customers that due to the upcoming postal strike on Friday the 26th of August there will be no mail deliveries or collections after close of business today (Thursday the 25th of August). We will still continue to process any letters received in the system but these will not be collected by Royal Mail until they resume working on Tuesday the 30th of August. Due to the strike we will receive no mail deliveries during this time. Mailbox customers should expect delays received mail.

Withdrawal of Tracked Services During Postal Strikes

As we cannot guarantee delivery times of tracked services during the Royal Mail postal strikes, we will be withdrawing all tracked services during the strike action. We have also been informed by Royal Mail that they have amended their terms and conditions for this period. From Thursday the 25th August and 1st of September, customers will not be able to claim any compensation for items that are delayed due to the knock on effect of strike action.

Bank Holiday Delivery Times

We are closed on Monday the 29th of August for the Bank Holiday. During this day there are no Royal Mail collections or deliveries so mail is likely to take longer to arrive. As we are expecting a postal strike to take place on Friday the 26th of August, any mail received in our system after our cut-off time of 1pm for tracked mail and 3pm for all other mail on Thursday the 25th of August will be queued in the system and processed on Tuesday the 30th of August.
