Royal Mail have advised that there have been delays at their Preston Mail Processing Centre with not all mail having been processed to schedule. Customers should expect delays in the BB, FY, LA and PR postcode areas.
Last night a vehicle travelling from the Southampton Mail Centre arrived late into the National Distribution Centre in Daventry. This is expected to cause delays to mail posted in the PO, SO and SP postcode areas.
Last night a train travelling from the Newcastle Mail Centre to London's Princess Royal Distribution Centre was held at Chester Le Street following a fatality on the line, and a subsequent investigation by the British Transport Police. The train will be returned to Newcastle later this morning and all mail will be unloaded and mail sent on via the road network for onward distribution. As a result, some mail posted in the North East of England yesterday for delivery today in parts of London and South East England will be delayed.
