We receive a lots of complaints from customers regarding delayed mail so it is interesting to read the following article that Royal Mail has fined by the regulator for missing its delivery targets for 1st and 2nd class mail. Royal Mail fined £10.5m for missing delivery targets - BBC News

The article says that operator is meant to deliver at least 93% of first class mail within one working day, and 98.5% of second class post within three working days. However, in the year to the end of March it missed both targets, reaching figures of just 74.7% and 92.7%.

This comes as no surprise to us at PC2Paper. We are often incorrectly blamed for mail taking longer than expected when the delivery process is carried out via Royal Mail not by ourselves. We usually find that 1st class mail is not a next day service, it usually takes approx. 1-3 working days to arrive. In our experience 2nd class mail takes much longer usually about a week to be delivered.

Hopefully now that the issue has been highlighted Royal Mail will take steps to improve the current service.
