Royal Mail have advised that not all mail was processed to schedule yesterday at several of its Mail Processing Centres. The following areas are currently subject to delays:

  • Birmingham Mail Centre: Some mail posted on Wednesday in the B, HR and WR postcode areas, due for delivery today to addresses across the rest of the UK.
  • Jubilee Mail Centre: Some mail posted on Wednesday in the GU, KT, SW and TW postcode areas, due for delivery today to addresses across the rest of the UK.
  • London Central Mail Centre: Some mail posted on Wednesday in the EC, N, W1 and WC postcode areas, due for delivery today to addresses across the rest of the UK.
  • North West Midlands Mail Centre: Some mail posted on Wednesday in the DY, ST, TF, WS and WV postcode areas, due for delivery today to addresses across the rest of the UK.
  • Peterborough Mail Centre: Some mail posted on Wednesday in the CB and PE postcode areas, due for delivery today to addresses across the rest of the UK.
  • Plymouth Mail Centre: Some mail posted on Wednesday in the PL postcode area, due for delivery today to addresses across the rest of the UK.
  • South Midlands Mail Centre: Some mail posted on Wednesday in the CV, LE, MK and NN postcode areas, due for delivery today to addresses across the rest of the UK.
  • Truro Mail Centre: Some mail posted on Wednesday in the TR postcode area, due for delivery today to addresses across the rest of the UK.

In addition to the above several areas are currently experiencing delivery delays due to local issues such as COVID-related self-isolation, high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors. The following areas are currently affected:

  • Didcot DO (OX11)
  • Hitchin DO (SG4 and SG5)
  • Portslade DO (BN41 and BN42)
  • Rainham RM DO (RM13)
  • Stevenage DO (SG1, SG2 and SG3)
  • Weston Super Mare DO (BS22, BS23 and BS24)

We have been warned by Royal Mail to expect some disruption to deliveries and collections on Monday 18th and Tuesday the 19th of July due to the extreme heat. We are expecting mail to be delayed over this period, likely spilling over to Wednesday the 20th of July as Royal Mail work to clear any backlog. Customers should allow extra time for mail to be delivered during this time.

Royal Mail have advised that not all mail was processed to schedule yesterday at its Chelmsford, Medway and Northern Ireland Mail Centres. This is likely to cause delays in the following areas:

  • Chelmsford Mail Centre: Some mail posted yesterday in the CM, CO, IP and SS postcode areas for delivery today in other parts of the UK.
  • Medway Mail Centre: Some mail posted yesterday in other parts of the UK for delivery today in the CT, DA, ME and TN postcode areas.
  • Northern Ireland Mail Centre: Some mail posted yesterday in other parts of the UK for delivery today in the BT postcode area.

Customers should be aware that all of our mail has to pass through the Medway Mail Processing Centre so we are likely to see delays to mail being received for our Mailbox customers.

There are also delivery delays in the following areas:
