Royal Mail have reported delays at some of their mail processing centres dues to staffing issues. Not all mail has been processed to schedule at the following processing centres and customers should expect delays to mail delivery.

  • Chelmsford: Some mail posted in other parts of the UK yesterday, due for delivery today in the CM, CO and SS postcode areas.
  • Chester: Some mail posted in the CH, LL and SY postcode areas yesterday, due for delivery today in the rest of the UK.
  • London Central: Some mail posted in the EC, N, W1 and WC postcode areas yesterday, due for delivery today in the rest of the UK.
  • Swindon: Some mail posted in other parts of the UK yesterday, due for delivery today in the OX, RG and SN postcode areas.

Extremely high volumes of mail are causing delays at Royal Mail Yorkshire Distribution Centre. As a result of this a vehicle due to the North East of England was delayed. This will cause delays to delivery of mail in parts of the North East of England. Customers should expect deliveries to take longer in this area.

Road Closure on the M25 and M11 last night have caused delays to mail travelling from the Royal Mail Romford Mai Centre. As a result mail posted yesterday in the E, IG and RM postcode areas may take longer to arrive.

Late arrivals at the Royal Mail National Distribution Centre last night have delayed the departure of mail to the Manchester and Leeds Processing centres. As a result mail in some areas is likely to be subject to delays. Mail to the following postcode areas, may arrive later than planned - BL, M, OL and SK (Manchester), BD, HD, HG, HX, LS, WF and YO (Leeds).

Capacity issues at the Royal Mail Yorkshire Distribution Centre have meant that not all mail was able to travel on the scheduled service to Tyneside last night. As a result come mail posted in the DH, DL, NE, SR and TS postcode areas may arrive later than planned.

Royal Mail have advised that a vehicle from Chester Mail Centre arrived late last night. This will mean that some mail posted in the CH, LL and SY postcode areas yesterday will be subject to delays.

Mail travelling from the Medway Mail Centre into London's Royal Distribution Centre last night has been delayed due to road closures on route. This has caused some mail to miss the connection with the scheduled outbound service. Customers should expect delays to mail posted in the CT, DA, ME and TN postcode areas yesterday to arrive later than normal. This may affect mail sent by PC2Paper which could take longer than normal to arrive.

Royal Mail have advised that not all mail was able to travel on the scheduled flight from Exeter to the Midlands last night. This mail was instead forwarded via the road network. As a result of this some mail posted in the South West of England for delivery in the Midlands, North of England, South West Wales and Northern Ireland is likely to be delayed.

In addition to this the late arrival of vehicles into East Midlands Airport last night have met that not all mail has been able to travel on the scheduled flight to Edinburgh. As a result of this mail was instead on the road network. Customers should expect delays to deliveries in Central, Southern and Northern Scotland.
