Royal Mail have advised that deliveries in the following areas continue to be limited and this is likely to continue this week. Customer should expect mail delivery to take longer to the following locations:

  • Basildon (SS13, SS14, SS15, SS16)
  • Maidstone (ME14, ME15, ME16, ME17, ME18)
  • Polegate (BN26)
  • Stratford (E15, E20)

Royal Mail have reported delays at several of its mail processing centres due to staffing issues caused by self-isolating and social distancing and increased volumes of parcels. As a result of this not all mail has been processed to schedule in the following areas and customers should expect delays.

  • Birmingham Mail Centre: Some mail posted in other parts of the UK on Monday, due for delivery today to addresses in the B, HR and WR postcode areas.
  • Bristol Mail Centre: Some mail posted in other parts of the UK on Monday, due for delivery today in the BA, BS, GL and TA postcode areas. Also, some mail posted in these postcode areas on Monday, due for delivery today to addresses across the rest of the UK
  • Greenford Mail Centre: Some mail posted in the HA, NW, SL, UB, W2-14 postcode areas and BFPO on Monday, due for delivery today to addresses across the rest of the UK.
  • Leeds Mail Centre: Some mail posted in other parts of the UK on Monday, due for delivery today to addresses in the BD, HD, HG, HX, LS, WF and YO postcode areas.
  • London Central Mail Centre: Some mail posted in the EC, N, W1 and WC postcode areas on Monday, due for delivery today to addresses across the rest of the UK.
  • Medway Mail Centre: Some mail posted in the CT, DA, ME and TN postcode areas on Monday, due for delivery today to addresses across the rest of the UK.

Higher than normal volumes of mail have meant that not all mail was processed at the Princess Royal Distribution Centre last night, this will cause delays to some mail posted in London and the South East of England which may arrive later than expected.

Staffing issues caused by self-isolating and social distancing are causing delays at the following mail processing centres:

  • Birmingham: Some mail posted in other parts of the UK yesterday, due for delivery today in the B, HR and WR postcode areas.
  • Bristol: Some mail posted in other parts of the UK yesterday, due for delivery today in the BS, BA, GL and TA postcode areas.
  • Chelmsford: Some mail posted in other parts of the UK yesterday, due for delivery today in the CM, CO and SS postcode areas.

Royal Mail have advised that not all mail was processed and dispatched to schedule at some of its mail processing centres. Currently Chelmsford, Medway and Swindon and experiencing delays. Customer should expect deliveries to take longer than normal in the following postcodes:

Chelmsford, CM, CO and SS.

Medway: CT, DA, ME and TN.

Swindon: OX, RG and SN.

Royal Mail have issued the last recommended posting for BFPO mail to HM Forces and New Zealand and Australia. It is recommended to post early this year take into account any restrictions and complications caused by Covid-19.

BFPR mail should be posted by Monday 30th of November.

International mail including International Tracked and Signature service to New Zealand and Australia should be posted by Friday 4th of December.

Extremely high volumes of mail are causing delays at Royal Mail Yorkshire Distribution Centre. As a result of this a vehicle due to the North East of England was delayed. This will cause delays to delivery of mail in parts of the North East of England. Customers should expect deliveries to take longer in this area.

Road Closure on the M25 and M11 last night have caused delays to mail travelling from the Royal Mail Romford Mai Centre. As a result mail posted yesterday in the E, IG and RM postcode areas may take longer to arrive.

As a result mail in some areas is likely to be subject to delays.
